Robert MacFarlane, MBA, AACI, P.App (President) Robert is a tenured Commercial banker who has worked for both Bank of Montreal and the Business Development Bank of Canada. Robert has an undergraduate degree from York University and an MBA from Schulich. Robert has utilized his knowledge and experiences to assist companies as small as 1 employee up to multi-national firms in their growth and day to day operations. Robert has completed both his Post Graduate Certificate in Valuation at UBC and has obtained his AACI, P.App designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Robert actively manages PVCI’s Operations as well as completing valuations on for expropriations and financing.
Murray Visser, AACI, P.App. (Director) Murray received his undergraduate degree in business from Wilfrid Laurier University, and has worked in the real estate field since that time, focusing on appraisal and related services for the last 20 years. Prior to becoming the owner of PVCI in 2004, he worked in Toronto for Ernst & Young as a manager in the real estate consulting practice, and with CIBC in the real estate construction financing group. In the 1990s he worked at Lincoln North and Company as a senior appraiser. Lincoln North and Company was the pre-eminent appraisal firm in Canada, catering to institutional investors, pension funds and large private developers.
PVCI Inc. is comprised of two appraisal teams broken down into functional groups completing Residential and Commercial/Institutional Work. Both teams are headquartered out of our Whitby head office. At present, our 19 member team includes six accredited members and nine candidate members of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC), dedicated researchers and a full support/clerical staff. A list of staff from our three offices has been included on the following page with designated appraisers noted in bold. The list describes the credentials and experience of our staff appraisers, clerical support and appraisal support staff.
With numerous appraisers, research/support staff and administrative personnel, our staff is capable of working in varying combinations and in teams of varying sizes to effectively complete appraisal assignments in a timely manner. On large projects, personnel are clustered into Project teams operationally reporting to Mr. MacFarlane, with appraisal review and content under the review and direction of Mr. Visser. In addition, our offices and computer networks are set up to facilitate the sharing of information and resources that allow us to complete large scale appraisal assignments.
